Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving as a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist providing critical support to students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Located conveniently in the Chicago Ridge area, this role covers two temporary leaves one from August to November and another from October to January making it ideal for professionals seeking impactful, time-limited assignments.
Work a consistent schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. (totaling 33.75 hours weekly). Youll manage a diverse caseload, deliver direct therapy, conduct assessments and evaluations, and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Your expertise will be instrumental in helping students reach their full communication potential in a supportive school environment.
What youll bring:
- Active Illinois SLP-CCC
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experience in schools, healthcare, or pediatric settings
- Proficiency with speech-language teletherapy and/or onsite services
- Confidence conducting therapy, developing IEPs, and completing assessments independently
- Familiarity with caseload management in PreK-8th grade populations
- Ability to step into contract roles quickly; flexibility to cover maternity and planned leaves
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students
- Perform thorough evaluations and deliver assessment reports
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, collaborating with educators and parents
- Implement individualized therapy plans to support student goals
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in accordance with school procedures
