Job Description
Step into a vibrant educational setting providing speech-language services for students in Early Childhood through 8th grade. This contract position runs from mid-August through late May and will immerse you in a diverse caseload, collaborating closely with a fellow SLP to deliver impactful interventions and support.
You will enjoy a focused, community-centered environment where your expertise directly shapes student achievement. You'll engage with a manageable group of approximately 45 students, sharing responsibilities with another professional in a supportive team.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech Language Pathologist endorsement (from IDFPR)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- ISBE number required for candidacy submission
- Experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Proactive, collaborative approach to working with education staff and families
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site speech-language pathology services to students from Early Childhood through 8th grade
- Conduct evaluations, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and deliver targeted therapy
- Maintain compliance with all district, state, and union requirements
- Participate in team meetings, contributing to a positive and inclusive school community
- Complete timely progress notes and communicate student progress to parents and staff
