Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) supporting elementary students! This full-time, onsite contract position located near Chesapeake, VA offers the opportunity to provide essential speech and language services in a vibrant school environment.

Youll collaborate with educators and families to develop and implement personalized intervention strategies that help young learners achieve communication milestones and develop confidence.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia SLP or SLPA license required
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred
  • Strong understanding of pediatric speech and language disorders
  • Ability to adapt therapy approaches for individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Typical Duties:

  • Conduct screening, evaluation, and assessment of elementary students speech and language abilities
  • Develop and execute IEP goals and therapy plans
  • Deliver direct therapy services in individual and group settings
  • Consult with teachers, support staff, and parents to promote generalization of communication skills across settings
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of sessions and progress
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student progress
  • Remain current with best practices through ongoing professional development
