Embark on a rewarding contract position as a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist in the Chattanooga area, supporting students communication skills during the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time opportunity offers a stimulating environment and diverse experiences, working within schools to help children achieve their full potential. The assignment typically focuses on elementary-age students, though specific caseload details will be provided as the district finalizes placement numbers. Required Qualifications:
- Current, active Speech-Language Pathology license
- Valid Department of Education certification for SLPs
- Availability to complete required fingerprinting and all district credentialing processes
- Previous experience in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred, though motivated new graduates are encouraged
- Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a passion for making a difference in students lives
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to a caseload of students
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with each students communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student progress
- Maintain detailed records, progress notes, and compliance with all district and state policies
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
- Adjust service delivery models according to student and school needs
This full-time, 35-hour per week contract position commences August 5, 2026, and extends through May 19, 2027. School assignments are determined prior to the start date, with the potential to support a range of elementary-aged learners.
