Job Description
Step into a vital school-based role supporting young learners communication skills for the upcoming academic year. Youll collaborate with another Speech-Language Pathologist to serve approximately 70 students across pre-K through 8th grade. This contract position runs from mid-August through late May, with a weekly, on-site commitment of 33.75 hours and a caseload thoughtfully divided between two team members.
Bring your expertise in speech and language intervention to engage and empower students, working closely with educators, families, and support staff in a dynamic environment.
What were seeking:
- Valid Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License)
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist License from IDFPR
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Experience in a school setting, particularly with early childhood through middle school populations
- ISBE number required prior to application consideration
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities
- Ability to provide services exclusively on-site; remote/virtual work is not available
- Commitment to following local union guidelines and flexibility regarding interview timelines (may take place in May)
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for a diverse caseload of students
- Providing both direct and consultative services per IEPs
- Documenting progress, keeping detailed records, and updating goals as needed
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families to ensure comprehensive student support
- Participating in team meetings and adhering to school and district procedures
