Step into a rewarding role helping young learners thrive as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist. This full-time contract position focuses on providing outstanding support to students in kindergarten through 2nd grade. Your expertise will make a meaningful difference as you guide early childhood communication development within a collaborative and supportive educational setting.
In this role, youll also have the unique opportunity to supervise a Clinical Fellow (CF) and an SLPA, ensuring they receive the mentorship and direction they need to grow in their careers. Candidates should possess ample professional experience in a school environment and be confident in a leadership capacity.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut SLP license and CCC certification
- Previous experience in elementary school settings, ideally K-2nd grade
- Strong background in evaluating and developing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor CFs and SLPAs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptability and collaborative attitude
What Youll Do:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to kindergarten2nd grade students according to their IEPs
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication delays and disorders
- Document progress and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
- Provide guidance, support, and supervision to a CF and SLPA
- Contribute to IEP meetings and goal setting for each student on your caseload
- Maintain thorough, timely records in compliance with district and state policies
