Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the schools near Birmingham, Alabama. Beginning August 7 and continuing through June 10, you'll partner with a talented team dedicated to helping children with diverse needs thrive. Caseloads and specific assignments will be matched to your areas of expertise and the needs throughout the district, ensuring a dynamic and meaningful experience.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Professional Educator Certification required.
- Possession of a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from an accredited institution.
- Strong understanding of laws and regulations relating to the education and services for students with disabilities.
- Solid foundation in pediatric and adolescent developmentboth cognitive and physical.
- Familiarity with medical and psychological diagnostic methods relevant to school-based SLP services.
- Facility with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
- Preferred: ASHA Certification and Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABSESPA) Licensure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized speech and language services and interventions to students.
- Assess, diagnose, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams regarding student needs.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret pertinent data to support student educational goals.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, district, and state requirements.
- Contribute to IEP development and participate in meetings with educators and families.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services.
- Remain on-site for all duties (remote work is not available for this position).
