Job Description

A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in Bessemer, AL, offering a contract role serving K-12 students in a school setting. This position involves delivering specialized speech and language therapy, supporting childrens communication development in a dynamic educational environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license in Alabama
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
  • Experience in pediatric speech-language pathology
  • Familiarity with Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) requirements is a plus
  • Prior school-based SLP experience highly desirable

Location:
Bessemer, AL (serving local school districts)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy and assessments for K-12 students with speech and language disorders
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and therapy outcomes
  • Implement evidence-based interventions to enhance student communication skills
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to school-based initiatives

Work Schedule:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 5 days per week
