Job Description

A full-time, contract opportunity for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is available in a K-12 school setting in Birmingham, AL. This role involves providing direct speech and language support to students, helping them develop critical communication skills across a diverse age range.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other education professionals to create effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of student progress and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development and mentoring activities to continuously enhance clinical skills.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Valid Alabama Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license is required.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Prior experience in a school-based setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills coupled with a passion for supporting students' educational success.
