Step into a rewarding opportunity providing speech-language therapy services in Alaskas scenic Mat-Su Valley, supporting students in grades K-12 with mild to moderate needs. This contract, onsite role offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact across a diverse student population, working closely with a supportive special education team that receives consistent positive feedback from previous therapists.
Youll manage an average caseload of around 50 students per school, with specialized elementary caseloads of approximately 45, and high school assignments closer to 60 (often consisting of consultative services). Collaborate with educators and families to help students reach communication and academic milestones for the 2022-2023 school year.
What youll need:
- Valid Alaska SLP license
- DEED (state teaching) certification
- Experience working with school-age children
- Comfort with mild to moderate speech-language disabilities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for working onsitedistrict prioritizes in-person services
Your contribution will include:
- Conducting evaluations, developing, and implementing individualized therapy plans
- Documenting student progress and reporting to multidisciplinary teams
- Serving as an active member of IEP teams and participating in eligibility meetings
- Consulting with teachers and parents to promote generalization of skills
- Providing consultative-only services to high school students when applicable
