Job Description

Step into a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist contract opportunity in the Anchorage, AK region, serving a collaborative and well-supported educational community for the 2022/2023 school year. This engaging position covers multiple areas, including nearby Point Mackenzie, Butte, and Palmer, offering SLPs the flexibility to work with a diverse student population.

In this role, you will provide services primarily to students with mild to moderate needs across all age ranges. Caseloads are manageable, with elementary SLPs averaging around 4550 students and high school SLPs supporting approximately 60, many of whom require consultative services. Youll be part of an experienced and welcoming team that values your expertise and supports continued professional growth.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Alaska SLP license
  • Valid DEED (teaching) certificate
  • Previous school-based SLP experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Comfort working with children and adolescents with mild to moderate disabilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech, language, and communication interventions to students
  • Conduct screenings, comprehensive evaluations, and assessments
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff on intervention strategies
  • Maintain accurate case notes and comply with district documentation requirements
