Job Description

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant K12 School-Based Services

Sunbelt Staffing has an opening for a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a K12 school setting in Bethel, Connecticut. This contract position is available ASAP and is expected to continue through the beginning of December 2026. The COTA will support students across a broad K12 caseload while working alongside the schools occupational therapy team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Implement treatment activities aligned with students individualized goals and plans
  • Support students with fine motor, sensory, functional, and classroom-related skills
  • Document services and maintain accurate student records
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school personnel
  • Communicate student progress and participate in relevant school meetings

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students across a wide age range
  • Organized and dependable approach to documentation and service delivery
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a school-based team

Qualifications

  • Active Connecticut COTA license/certification required
  • NBCOT certification required
  • Pediatric or school-based experience preferred

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents is preferred
  • Experience serving students in a K12 educational setting is beneficial

Education

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

Work Hours

  • MondayFriday, 8:30 AM3:30 PM
  • Full-time, 35 hours per week
