Job Description
A Speech Language Pathologist position is available in Bessemer, AL, focused on serving K-12 students in a school setting. This contract opportunity involves a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week over 5 days, providing comprehensive speech and language support to children throughout their educational journey.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) licensure in Alabama
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
- Experience working with pediatric populations in school settings
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required
- Familiarity with educational requirements and therapeutic interventions for K-12 students
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments for students to identify communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the needs of each student
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to integrate therapy goals within the educational environment
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely documentation
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute speech-language expertise
