Desired qualifications and background:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Active state licensure or eligibility in Connecticut
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA (or in process of obtaining)
  • Previous experience working with children in a school-based setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to conduct assessments, develop IEPs, and provide direct and consultative therapy

Role responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering speech, language, and communication therapy to elementary and/or secondary students
  • Administering evaluations and assessments to identify students needs
  • Developing individualized education plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Tracking progress and maintaining required documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Communicating effectively with caregivers, staff, and administrators
  • Participating in IEP meetings and professional development sessions as needed
  • Offering support, guidance, and education to teachers and families
