Job Description

Make a real impact on student communication in a contract role supporting elementary learners. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to provide on-site services at an elementary school setting, working with a diverse caseload. Youll collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams as you help studentsmany of whom are non-verbal and use AAC devicesreach important milestones in their communication skills.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Missouri SLP or SLPA license required.
  • Experience supporting school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices highly valued.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing district needs; assignment may include up to two local schools.
  • District-mandated fingerprinting and submission of TCN, plus district technology form required prior to start.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, able to work closely with teachers and support staff.
  • Commitment to uphold district standards and provide high-quality, inclusive services.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech and language interventions to students in an elementary school environment.
  • Support a caseload representing approximately 3400 total service minutes, with a significant focus on non-verbal students.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor therapy plans, completing all documentation in accordance with district requirements.
  • Consult with staff and families to promote carryover of communication strategies.
  • Conduct evaluations, contribute to IEP meetings, and participate in collaborative problem-solving.
  • Offer potential support at an additional assigned school as needs arise.
