Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with diverse communication needs, working part-time in a vibrant educational setting near San Luis Obispo, CA. This role is tailor-made for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) looking to make a difference during a maternity leave, from October to mid-December 2025 (through winter break). You'll work onsite, engaging with students from Pre-K through 12th grade, providing essential services that foster growth and academic success.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California SLP license or CA CTC credential required
- SLP-CCC certification
- Experience in school-based settings with pediatric populations strongly preferred
- Skilled in IEP development, conducting evaluations, and delivering both direct and indirect speech/language services
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families
- Versatility in addressing varied types of disabilities across a broad age range
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings to develop individualized plans
- Deliver direct therapy services suited to students unique goals and needs
- Provide consultative and indirect support tailored to student and teacher requirements
- Monitor progress, maintain thorough records, and communicate effectively with parents and staff
- Manage a balanced caseload, ensuring compliance with state and district guidelines
