Job Description

A part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for a leave replacement contract position serving students from Pre-K through 12th grade in a K-12 school setting located in Arroyo Grande, CA. This role requires providing essential speech and language services while supporting individualized education programs (IEPs) during a maternity leave period from October through mid-December 2025 (until winter break).

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to students with a wide range of disabilities and communication needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and review of individualized education plans
  • Conduct speech and language evaluations and assessments
  • Provide indirect services, including consultation and collaboration with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and student progress

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid California Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license or California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
  • Experience in pediatric SLP services and working in educational settings (Pre-K through 12)
  • Familiarity with teletherapy is a plus but on-site presence is mandatory for this assignment
  • Ability to manage caseload effectively and work independently within a multidisciplinary team

Schedule and Location:

  • Part-time, approximately 21 hours per week over 3 days
  • On-site presence required in Arroyo Grande, CA (San Luis Obispo area)
