Job Description

Deliver speech-language pathology services to students in Anchorage, Alaska, through a travel assignment supporting multiple school locations, including Point Mackenzie, Butte, and Palmer. This opportunity offers a dynamic caseload ranging from mild to moderate speech and language disorders across all age groups in elementary and high school settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech and language impairments to students within the school district.
  • Develop individualized education programs (IEPs) and collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
  • Manage caseloads averaging 45-60 students, adapting services to diverse needs, including consultative support for high school students.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district and state requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing team meetings and professional development sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Alaska Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
  • Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (DEED) teaching certification.
  • Experience working with school-aged children presenting mild to moderate speech and language challenges.
  • Ability to manage varied caseloads and work effectively both independently and within a collaborative school environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Location & Assignment Details:

  • Anchorage, AK, with travel assignments across three nearby communities: Point Mackenzie, Butte, and Palmer.
  • Full-time position averaging 37.5 hours per week during the academic year (2022-2023).
  • Caseloads typically range from 45-60 students depending on school level and programming.
