A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist to support diverse student needs within Anchorage, AK, serving the school district during the 2022-2023 academic year. This contract position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, working with mild to moderate caseloads across all age ranges, primarily focusing on elementary and high school students. The average caseload varies by school level, with elementary schools hosting around 45 students and high schools closer to 60, reflecting a blend of direct and consultative services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech-language therapy services to students with mild to moderate communication disorders.
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain detailed records and document student progress in compliance with district and state regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative school environment that supports student success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Alaska Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) certification.
- Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (DEED) teaching certification.
- Experience working with school-aged children across a range of communication disorders.
- Ability to manage caseloads effectively while delivering high-quality, student-centered care.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills within educational settings.
