Job Description

Step into a meaningful contract role supporting students communication growth in the vibrant educational community near Acworth, GA. This position focuses on providing speech-language therapy services at a single elementary or middle school site, with specifics on caseloads being finalized for the upcoming academic year. As a valued school-based SLP with your CCC, you will play a key role in fostering students skills and building a supportive environment for their success.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Active GA PSC certification (new requirement)
  • State licensure and current ASHA CCCs (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
  • Ability to obtain time-sensitive credentialing documents, including fingerprinting and drug screening
  • Experience in a school setting preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Enthusiasm for working with elementary and middle school-age students
  • SLPA supervision not required; this role does not oversee SLPAs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized education programs (IEPs) for students identified with speech and language needs
  • Deliver therapy services in accordance with IEP goals, adapting methods to support diverse learners
  • Engage in collegial collaboration with educators, families, and other professionals
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation as required by district and state policies
  • Lead both direct service sessions and consultative support for staff and families

This full-time assignment runs from early August 2026 through late May 2027 at one school location, allowing for continuity and relationship-building throughout the academic year. Internal screenings may be scheduled between 9-11am or 2-3pm EST, with some flexibility based on your availability.
