Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid EIPA score of 4.0 or higher (required)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and English
- Experience interpreting in educational or school-based settings, ideally with junior high or similar age groups
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and student well-being
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team alongside another ASL interpreter
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities for assigned students
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and school staff
- Adapt interpretation methods to suit different subjects, environments, and student needs
- Work collaboratively with educational staff to ensure the full participation of students in all aspects of school life
- Maintain accurate, timely records as required
