Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate SLI endorsement
• Proven experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially in school settings
• Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with educational interpreting
• Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff
• Professional, reliable, and adaptable to diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver dedicated one-on-one interpreting services for a student, ensuring clear access to classroom instruction and school activities
• Support classroom participation by accurately interpreting spoken and signed communication
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to codes of professional conduct
• Collaborate with educational staff to address student needs and promote an inclusive environment
• Accurately document and report progress as required
