Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (relevant state/national credentials required)
- Previous experience in educational settings, preferably K-12
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Ability to adapt and communicate effectively in dynamic school environments
Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 sign language interpreting services for students in a full-time school setting
- Facilitate clear, effective communication between students, educators, and staff
- Support students educational and social participation by delivering accurate, context-sensitive interpretation
- Collaborate with educational teams to ensure inclusive access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
