A school-based opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter to provide communication support in a classroom setting. This position is a contract role located in Lake Charles, LA, with morning hours from 7:35 AM to 9:35 AM.

Qualifications and Experience:

• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting
• Experience working with students in an educational environment preferred
• Ability to facilitate effective communication between hearing-impaired students and educators

Location:

• Lake Charles, Louisiana

Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa during instructional time
• Assist in ensuring students have access to the full curriculum through clear and accurate interpretation
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student learning and communication needs
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working with students and school personnel
