Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience delivering sign language interpretation, preferably in educational settings
• Ability to adapt interpretation style to meet individual student needs
• Current national or state interpreter certification (such as EIPA, RID, or state equivalent)
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical guidelines
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction and activities between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and school personnel
• Provide interpretation for school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities as required
• Support understanding and participation in both academic and social settings
• Prepare for assignments by reviewing lesson plans and related materials
• Assist in fostering a welcoming environment that supports all modes of communication
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with school policies
