A contract position is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (SLI) in a K-12 school setting located in Virginia Beach, VA. This role involves providing essential support to students with visual impairments through interpretation and instruction assistance, adapting curricula, and collaborating with educational staff to ensure student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation and instructional assistance tailored to visually impaired students.
• Adapt the general education curriculum to ensure accessibility and meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement strategies that support student goals.
• Maintain ongoing communication with educators and support personnel to optimize learning outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia State SLI Endorsement is required.
• Experience working with visually impaired students in a K-12 educational environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accessible teaching methods and adaptation techniques.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary educational team.

Position Details:

• Contract duration: August 25, 2025 June 5, 2026.
• Full-time role, approximately 37.5 hours per week.
