This full-time Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) position offers an exciting opportunity to support K-12 students in the Santa Barbara, CA area. The role involves providing in-person interpreting services within a school environment, ensuring effective communication between hearing-impaired students and their educators and peers. This contract position is available for the current school year, providing consistent hours and a dynamic work setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate accurate and clear communication between students, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL).
• Support classroom instruction and extracurricular activities as needed.
• Collaborate with educators and the clinical advisory team to promote an inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and protocols at all times.

Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) certification in California.
• Experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASL and deaf culture.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work full-time hours on site.
