Job Description

A dynamic opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in elementary education. This travel assignment offers the chance to work across multiple school buildings, providing interpreting support for an elementary school caseload in a vibrant and growing suburban area near a major city. Responsibilities:

  • Interpret effectively for elementary students across five different school buildings within the district.
  • Provide itinerant and float interpreting services as needed to support classroom learning and communication.
  • Collaborate with teachers, students, and support staff to ensure clear communication and accessibility.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Adapt to various classroom settings and student needs within a rapidly growing area.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum EIPA score of 3.5 required; a 4.0 EIPA score is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a sign language interpreter in educational settings, especially elementary schools, is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse caseload across multiple locations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel between different school sites.
