Job Description

A school district in Stockton, CA, is seeking six Sign Language Interpreters to support K-12 students in various educational settings. The positions include both full-time and part-time roles, catering to distinct classroom environments. This contract role spans the current school year, providing an opportunity to contribute to a diverse and dynamic learning community.

Location: Stockton, CA
Job Type: Contract (Current School Year)
Positions Available: 6 (4-5 full-time, 2 part-time)

Responsibilities:

  • Full-time interpreters will work primarily in special education classrooms supporting students with mild to moderate needs.
  • Part-time interpreters will assist in general education classrooms.
  • Provide clear and effective American Sign Language interpretation to facilitate student participation and communication.
  • Collaborate with educators and staff to support students learning and inclusion.
  • Work onsite daily in accordance with district requirements.

Qualifications:

  • EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 4.0 or higher.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language interpreting for educational settings.
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are highly desirable, as approximately 90% of the district's population is Spanish-speaking.
  • Experience working with K-12 students, especially in special education, is preferred.
  • Commitment to onsite work; virtual options are not available for this role.
