Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time interpreting services for students, staff, and the classroomtranslating spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to foster an inclusive educational environment
• Tailor interpreting approaches to meet diverse student needs and learning situations
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
• Participate in team meetings and trainings as needed

Desired Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current license or permit from the Alabama Licensure Board for Interpreters and Transliterators (ALBIT)
• Proven skills in educational interpreting, particularly within school settings
• Strong interpersonal abilities and professional communication style
• Passion and commitment to supporting the learning and development of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
