Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality interpreting services (ASL and transliteration) during classes and school activities
• Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and staff

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster an inclusive environment

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Holds a current license or permit from the Alabama Licensure Board for Interpreters and Transliterators (ALBIT)
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language
• Prior experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
