Work Hours: Approx. 32.5 hours per week or part-time (15 hours per week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, onsite)
Job Description:
An excellent opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter supporting a middle school student in Toccoa, Georgia. This role is for the upcoming school year and offers both full-time and part-time options. The interpreter will work 1:1 with a 6th or 7th grade student who is deaf, providing consistent communication support throughout the school day. This position is ideal for a dedicated professional passionate about ensuring accessibility and student success.
Qualifications:
- Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 required
- Georgia interpreter certification may be required
- Experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing students preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide consistent, accurate interpretation in a classroom setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation for a middle school student
- Support communication access across academic and school-related activities
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student learning
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all student interactions
- Adapt to the students communication needs to ensure full participation
