Job Description

This onsite position offers a consistent weekday schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Current educator certification required
  • Achieved a score of at least 75% on the EIPA written assessment
  • EIPA performance evaluation of 4.0 or higher, or an active NIC credential from RID
  • Previous experience interpreting in school settings is valued
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Adaptability and professionalism in a dynamic educational environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate sign language interpretation between the student, staff, and peers during academic and extracurricular activities
  • Prepare for classes in advance, reviewing lesson materials as needed
  • Support the students engagement and understanding in classroom discussions and activities
  • Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to foster an inclusive learning space
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
  • Offer insights on best practices and accommodations relevant to deaf or hard-of-hearing students
