Job Description

Take on a meaningful opportunity supporting students as an ASL Language Facilitator in a contract position located onsite near Three Rivers, MI. This full-time role is designed for individuals passionate about helping students thrive through effective language access and classroom support.

Requirements:

  • Valid American Sign Language (ASL) License as required by state regulations
  • Previous experience working in school settings as a Sign Language Interpreter or ASL Teacher
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and school staff
  • Understanding of classroom protocols and student support strategies
  • State or district-specific certifications as required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with teachers and staff to meet the communication and learning needs of students who use ASL
  • Monitor students comprehension, providing instructional or behavioral reinforcement as directed by teachers
  • Introduce and reinforce vocabulary, clarify classroom instructions, and nurture students communication and self-advocacy skills
  • Support classroom management by assisting with duties that enhance the educational environment, while prioritizing language facilitation
  • Ensure all responsibilities and interventions align with educational goals and student plans
