Dedicated to supporting students in their educational journey, this opportunity is ideal for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter seeking a contract role in a school environment. Youll work onsite with a high school student, providing crucial 1:1 interpretation to ensure full participation in classroom activities. The position follows a structured schedule, Monday through Friday, allowing you to focus on creating meaningful interactions without overwhelming caseloads.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment)
- Prior professional experience in a school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver real-time interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language in classroom settings
- Support one high school student, fostering active engagement and understanding across academic subjects
- Coordinate with educators and support staff to maintain seamless communication and accommodate learning needs
- Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions within the school community
Schedule Details:
- MondayThursday: Period 2 (10:18 AM 11:48 AM) and Period 3 (12:29 PM 1:59 PM)
- Friday: Period 2 (10:36 AM 11:50 AM) and Period 3 (12:31 PM 1:45 PM)
- Onsite role with a predictable, student-centered caseload
