Job Description
A sign language interpreter position is available to provide communication support for a high school student in Oxnard, CA. This role includes both onsite and virtual telehealth assignments, offering a dynamic work setting that enhances accessibility and learning outcomes.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday:
- Period 2: 10:18 AM 11:48 AM
- Period 3: 12:29 PM 1:59 PM
- Friday (schedule may vary):
- Period 2: 10:36 AM 11:50 AM
- Period 3: 12:31 PM 1:45 PM
This 1:1 caseload requires delivering clear and effective interpretation services tailored to a high school students needs.
Qualifications:
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification is mandatory.
- A passing score of 4.0 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) is highly preferred.
- Prior professional experience in educational settings is required, demonstrating the ability to support students effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate sign language interpretation in both onsite classroom and telehealth environments.
- Facilitate clear communication between the student and educators, ensuring the students full participation.
- Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the unique educational needs and learning styles of the student.
