Providing American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services via telehealth, this contract role offers a specialized opportunity to work one hour per week with a single student in an educational setting. The position requires ongoing support for meetings where the current support staff is not ASL fluent, ensuring clear communication and access for the student. The role is based in Oscoda, MI, and is set to begin as soon as possible, continuing through the end of June.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver ASL interpreting services remotely for educational meetings and sessions.
• Support the students access to communication during School Support Worker (SSW) meetings.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to provide clear and effective interpretation.
• Maintain adherence to professional and ethical standards in sign language interpretation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid LARA license for Sign Language Interpreting (SLI) required.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language necessary.
• Experience working in educational environments, preferably with telehealth interpreting.
• Familiarity with IEP systems and educational protocols is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently and manage an itinerant schedule.
