Job Description

A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in Telehealth services within an educational setting. This role supports effective communication for students and staff by providing expert interpretation using American Sign Language (ASL) in virtual environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate clear and accurate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students, parents, and school personnel through American Sign Language.

  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to accommodate communication needs during lessons and school-related events.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards in all interpreting assignments.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language with certification or relevant credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter.
  • Previous experience interpreting in educational settings and telehealth environments strongly preferred.
  • Ability to navigate telecommunication platforms confidently to deliver remote interpreting services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to support dynamic school communication needs.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding accessibility and interpreting standards in education.
