Job Description

An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter experienced in telehealth services and American Sign Language (ASL) instruction. This position supports one student who requires specialized communication assistance within an educational setting located in Au Gres, MI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide ASL interpretation during virtual meetings and educational sessions to facilitate effective communication for the student.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support the students Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, including contract reviews and board meetings as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district protocols, including any required background checks and credentialing processes.

Qualifications:

  • Current Licensed Sign Language Interpreter (LARA SLI certification) is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language and experience interpreting in telehealth or virtual settings.
  • Familiarity with educational systems and IEP implementation.
  • Ability to deliver focused services during limited hours efficiently.
  • Valid background clearance and related credentialing as per educational standards.

Details:

  • Location: Au Gres, Michigan
  • Position Type: Contract, itinerant
  • Workload: Approximately 1 hour per week supporting 1 student
  • Assignment Duration: Immediate start through June
  • Mileage reimbursement available
