Seeking a talented Sign Language Interpreter eager to make a difference in a high school environment for the current academic year. This contract position focuses on supporting a driven 9th grade student who is thriving in his studies and actively involved in school activities, including drama and academic improvement. You'll play a vital role in his journey by ensuring seamless communication and providing needed language access, particularly as he navigates challenges in coursework like Algebra I.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Sign Language Interpreter license required
• Experience in K-12 settings, preferably high school
• Strong skills in interpreting spoken English to sign language and vice versa
• Comfortable working one-on-one with students in academic and extracurricular settings
• Professional, reliable, and dedicated to supporting student achievement

Core Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear communication between student, teachers, and peers in the classroom and during school events
• Interpret spoken instruction and discussions into sign language, ensuring the students engagement and access
• Support the student's participation in extracurricular activities, such as theater
• Collaborate with educators to provide enhanced learning opportunities and monitor the students academic growth
• Help foster a supportive and inclusive educational environment onsite

This opportunity begins as soon as possible and runs through May 27, 2027. The schedule is every Friday for 6.5 hours, onsite in a vibrant school setting.
