Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills
  • Demonstrated experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally within an educational setting
  • Comfortably able to work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Exceptional interpersonal, listening, and communication abilities
  • Hold appropriate state credentials or certifications as a Sign Language Interpreter

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accurately interpret spoken language into ASL for students and staff during classroom instruction and school activities
  • Provide interpretation services for a variety of academic subjects and school-related events
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure equal access to educational materials
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
  • Support student success and foster a welcoming, inclusive learning environment
