Job Description

A school-based sign language interpreter position is available in Sterling Heights, MI. This travel assignment involves providing interpretation services to support students with hearing impairments in an educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate clear and accurate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers, peers, and staff.
  • Interpret lectures, discussions, and classroom activities in real time using American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Collaborate with educators to ensure effective communication access and participate in team meetings as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards in all interactions.
  • Travel to various schools within the assigned district or region as required.

Qualifications:
