Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with interpreting in educational settings
• Current certification or license as required by state and school guidelines
• Previous experience working in K-12 environments preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to the communication needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Ability to adapt interpreting style to match a variety of learning activities and age groups

What Youll Do:

• Interpret classroom instruction, assemblies, and other school activities to facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff
• Support student participation and comprehension during academic and extracurricular activities
• Work collaboratively with educational staff to foster an accessible and supportive learning atmosphere
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Adapt to students individual language preferences and learning styles
• Participate in team meetings or IEP sessions, as needed, providing valuable input regarding students communication needs
