Key Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language and skilled in interpreting within K-12 school environments
• Active licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter in the state of North Carolina (required)
• Commitment to onsite presence for the duration of the contract (remote work is not available)
• Prior experience interpreting in educational settings preferred, particularly with individualized caseloads
• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities, with a passion for accessible education

Role Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and staff throughout the school day
• Interpret classroom lessons, discussions, and extracurricular activities, adapting style as needed for student comprehension
