Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
• Relevant certification or credential as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or state equivalent)
• Previous experience working in a school setting is highly valued
• Ability to interpret both individual and group settings, adapting style for varying age groups and learning needs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Professional, flexible attitude and a true commitment to student success

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide interpreting services for students in classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities
• Support effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
• Foster an inclusive environment that supports educational and social development
• Collaborate with teachers and special education teams to help implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all ethical guidelines related to interpreting in an educational setting
