This contract opportunity calls for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with experience working 1:1 with pediatric populations, specifically across Kindergarten, Pre K, Pre-school, and grades K-5including Middle School. Your expertise will bridge connections between students, staff, and families, cultivating a more inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting experience in school settings
• Previous experience supporting children in Pre K through Middle School, with a strong understanding of pediatric needs
• Ability to facilitate communication across a variety of learning levels and needs, ensuring equal access to instruction and social interaction
• Patience, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit to work with classroom teachers, specialists, and other support staff
• Relevant interpreter certification or licensure as required by state guidelines
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 sign language interpreting services for a student in classroom, small group, and extracurricular settings
• Support students understanding of instructional content, peer interactions, and daily school routines
• Aid educators and staff in communicating effectively with students using sign language
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate on the development of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals
