Job Description

This full-time contract position offers reliable hours supporting a high school sophomore, assisting them in general education classes to help foster a successful and inclusive learning experience.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals skilled in providing sign language interpretation in educational settings and who enjoy working closely with individual students. The assignment runs from ASAP through May 29, allowing you to shape a meaningful chapter for the remainder of the school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid KS licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
  • Proven proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Prior experience in a school environment, particularly working with high school-aged students, is preferred
  • Commitment to supporting students in general education settings
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities between teachers, peers, and the assigned high school sophomore
  • Facilitate communication during school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities as needed
  • Collaborate with educators and staff to ensure accessible learning
  • Encourage student engagement and assist in providing clear access to curriculum material
  • Maintain confidentiality and abide by school and district guidelines
