This assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through May 21, 2027, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant educational environment. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license for Kansas
- EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score meeting state requirements
- Experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly elementary grades, preferred
- Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL)
- Clear, professional communication and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services for two elementary students in various classroom and school activities
- Ensure equitable communication access during lessons, assignments, and school events
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support each student's educational experience
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interpreting assignments
- Adapt interpreting style to meet the needs and preferences of individual students
