A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available to support K-12 students in schools located in the Santa Maria, Pismo Beach, and Edna areas of California. This contract role serves students with diverse communication needs within a K-12 educational setting, providing essential interpretation services to facilitate effective communication and access to the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and clear sign language interpretation to students across K-12 grade levels.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff to support educational goals.
• Adapt interpretation methods to meet the needs of individual students with hearing impairments or other communication challenges.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate communication strategies into the classroom.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with CA licensure requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid California Sign Language Interpreter certification or California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) credential required.
• Proven experience interpreting in educational settings serving K-12 students.
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and deaf culture.
• Ability to work full-time hours (37.5 hours per week) on a contract basis.
• Commitment to supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive educational environments.

Location: This role is based in the Tri-County area of California, covering schools in Santa Maria (CA 93454), Pismo Beach (CA 93448), and Edna (CA 93401) with start dates beginning immediately for the 2026-2027 school year.
