Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students in a full-time contract position located in the San Luis Obispo area, including Pismo Beach, Santa Maria, and Edna, CA. This role involves working with a diverse student population within the Lucia Mar Unified School District, ensuring effective communication and accessibility for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation services during classroom instruction and other school activities.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff to support an inclusive educational environment.
• Collaborate with educators and specialists to accommodate individual student needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
• Support students across multiple school locations within the assigned district.

Qualifications:

• Valid California Sign Language Interpreter credential or California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) certification.
• Experience in K-12 educational settings preferred.
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and deaf culture.
• Ability to work full-time (37.5 hours per week) during the 2026-2027 school year.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation to cover multiple school sites within the district.

Location: San Luis Obispo County, CA positions available in Pismo Beach, Santa Maria, and Edna.
