Job Description

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current California SLP license or CA CTC credential required
  • Experience interpreting in educational settings, especially K-12, highly preferred
  • Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Ability to adapt interpreting techniques to suit various age groups and learning needs
  • Collaborative spiritcomfortable working with educators, students, and families
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism

Responsibilities:

  • Provide real-time sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Support classroom instruction and related school activities by conveying spoken communication into sign language and vice versa
  • Adapt interpretations for a diverse caseload, ensuring accessibility in academic and social settings
  • Consult with teachers and staff to optimize strategies for student inclusion and participation
  • Foster a welcoming and respectful environment for all students
