A school-based Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available in San Diego, CA. This travel position involves supporting students with hearing impairments in an educational environment, facilitating effective communication between students, teachers, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction and school activities.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure accessible learning experiences for students.
- Assist with communication at school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills.
- Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in school or educational settings.
- Ability to travel to different school locations within the San Diego area as required.
- Strong understanding of educational terminology and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
