Seeking an experienced Sign Language Interpreter to provide exceptional communication support in educational settings within Salisbury, MD, and surrounding areas. Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff.
• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.
• Collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure effective communication and access to the curriculum.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
• Adapt to different school environments and student needs through travel across assigned locations.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language and English.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably within K-12 schools.
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and educational terminology.
• Ability to travel regularly between schools within Salisbury, MD, and nearby communities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Relevant certifications or training in sign language interpreting are preferred.
